What is Prepaid

A Prepaid customer pays for the usage of the network before they start to use it, i.e. once you have bought a BTC Top Up you will only need to buy and replenish Top Up cards / vouchers to remain on the network. You pay for calls as they are made, as the cost of the call is deducted from the available credit in the card.

How do I check my top up balance?

Checking your balance is easy and can be done on your handset. Press *201# send to check your balance, free of charge.

What happens if I top up an incorrect number?

All transactions are final; top ups are available within minutes, hence, it cannot be retracted from the account. Please double check that you have entered the correct phone number before you complete the transaction.

What is the expiration of a top up?

90 days. Cash loaded to a BTC line stays alive 90 days. Topup before 90 days to increase and extend the balance 90 more days.

Can I wake up my old sim?

Please remember that you have 90 days in which to top up your prepaid account after you have begun using your prepaid account. The start date is the date the sim was first recharged. You can keep the sim alive by recharging every 90 days or you can take advantage of our keep alive service. We do the work for you. Just tell us the BTC mobile number and how long to keep it alive - (90 - 360 days). If you do it yourself and fail to Topup, your account on time, it (can / will) be deactivated.... Can I use reuse my sim from last year

Question - Morning. We have a SIM card we got from you that we used in The Bahamas in 2020. (1) Will it still work in the cell phone and all we need to do is add money or do we need a new sim card? (2) Also, we need data for iPads and iPhones. (3) Thinking of getting a Mifi device and a SIM card. Is the Alcatel LINKZONE Mobile 4G LTE WiFi Hotspot still a good option? (4) Also, does the plan provide 15G per month on the three month plan or is it 15G for the entire 90 day period? Or, (5) would it be better to use our phone with a BTC SIM card as a hotspot? We will likely use a good bit of data.

(1) The BTC sim will stay alive 90 days past the last recharge. If you topped up your sim from 2020 every 90 days (we prefer to tell you 80 days so you have 10 days gravy to forget to topup) it would stay alive. Unfortunately your sim is now expired and needs to be replaced.
(2) Data for iPad and iPhone - no prob. Get a combo plan (I like the 29.99 combo for 15 days with unlimited local talk and text and 1000 mins calls to USA & Canada and 15GB data). Plan is 33.58 with VAT included and it auto renews if you have sufficient cash loaded. This plan get you 30 GB every 30 days. Additionally you can add a 15GB data plan for 39.20 which includes 15GB data for 30 days. That is a total of 45GB data for 30 days.... if you need that much data.
(3) Alcatel linkzone - yes it is good
(4) BTC plans are max 30 days. They will auto renew and rollover at the end of the period if you have sufficient cash for the renewal. Dial *201# to check cash balance
(5) Using an iPhone as a hotspot rocks. Break out your iPhone 7 or newer for best service. Use a Combo plan on the iPhone and share hotspot. You all the benefits of a mifi along with a phone for talk and text. The 29.99 combo includes 1000 mins calls to USA and Canada ...sweet

Can I reuse a Bahamas sim from this year

I bought a BTC plan and SIM card from you earlier this year - see below. It worked great - thanks!
I'm planning to go back to the Bahamas again in December. Can I still use the same SIM card (so the same phone number) and just top-up with a new plan?

Which IMEI do I register

Question - Hi . With BTC data only plan - can I register the SIM with my iPhone IMEI - and then move it to my iPad? Or could I move it to my portable hotspot?

Register the phone you will use to manipulate the sim. Do not register the iPad or the hotspot.

Mifi Hotspot recommendation

Question - Hi, I’ve been doing some research into staying connected while we are cruising on our sailboat this winter in the Bahamas and your business came up as a reference point. I’ll be working part time while we are in the Bahamas for about 5 months and I was wondering if you had a recommendation for MiFi hotspot? Or any other connection insights that are relevant to 2021.

Jen - we try to stay away from hotspot recommendations because device specs tend to be carrier specific. Devices that work on AT&T USA or Rogers Canada will also work well on BTC Bahamas. Regarding a multi month stay and data we lean towards suggesting fewer devices rather than more. If you have a late model iPhone (we like iPhone for the Bahamas) or Android device, you can rock connectivity in the Bahamas. A BTC Bahamas sim along with the $29.99 ($33.58 with VAT) Combo means unlimited local talk and text, unlimited WhatsApp and Facebook, 15GB data with hotspot and 1000 mins calls to USA & Canada for 15 days. Double it for 30 days and you have 2000 mins calls to USA & Canada and 30GB hotspot. Thats a ton of connectivity for work. I hope this answer helps.

Shipping a Sim to Canada>

Yes. We ship to Canada by regular mail and by FedEx. We even once met a Canadian couple at Washington Dulles Airport with their sim cards. They had their boat shipped to Annapolis by truck and flew down to meet it. We met them at the airport, handed them their sim cards and even dropped them to the Metro so they could go get wet. But back to your question... Yes we ship to Canada. Order the sim and provide a Canadian address and it will be dispatched straight away. We will schedule activation per your stated Bahamas arrival and away you go. If you are meeting your boat in Florida, we can also ship to your marina by FedEx for your arrival.

When does the plan start?>

Question - We are not arriving in the Bahamas until 12/1 or so - I just activate it a little before we arrive and that’s when it starts, right?

The 7 day always on plan starts when we add money to the sim. We add money to the sim on the arrival date you provide us. If that date changes you can Update Your Arrival Date using the form or you can Call Us | Text Us | WhatsApp us to adjust arrival. The form or SMS is best. Make certain you let us know before the current arrival date. Once the plan starts, we cannot stop it.
